Grab a cuppa!!!

Ok, this is going to be long! Best you grab a cuppa. :)

Trip Details:
Day 1- Sunday 20th August 2006
Left CribPoint, Vic 6.30am
Bush Camp at Werrimull 5.30pm (free power and awesome sunset against the wheat silo)
689kms for day
Funny for the day: As DH is lifting my dog Kira onto the back of the 4WD she farts! PMSL!!! I could not stop laughing! I was laughing till I cried! Only Kira would get away with something like that!
Also, I was constantly bumping my head leaning into my car to reach for the camera! Did this most of the trip and DH would say: " 10;13am SW (Stupid Wife!) banged head again" He said he should of kept a journal! LOL!

Day 2- Monday 21st August 2006
Left Werrimull camp 7am (sunrise was simply stunning, with a bit of the moon in there too)
Bush camp on outskirts (just before) Iron Knob SA 3.45pm
538kms for day
Flinders ranges are just BREATHTAKING!!! There are no words to describe how Awesome it is!


Day 3- Tuesday 22nd August 2006
Left camp 6am
Splurge on room at Nullabor Roadhouse 6pm
746kms for day
Glad we stayed the night as their was a huge thunder storm (just check first photo here) that night and we had to hide the two big wimps (dogs) in our bathroom! LOL
Fuel was $1.84 (highest DH paid) here and Gas was 99.9c a litre! Highest I paid the whole trip!
First shower (eeewww I know!) Water pressure unbelievably good! Want one of these shower heads for home! LOL!
Funny for the day: Blonde chick (mutton dressed like lamb) out front of the bar undressing DH with her eyes! LMGDAO!!! He did not find it as funny as I did!

Day 4- Wednesday 23rd August 2006 (Rain most of the day)
Left Nullabor Roadhouse 7am (Awesome sunrise!)
Bush Camp 130kms outskirts (before) Balladonia
614kms for day
Really starting to feel exhausted now! So over driving!

Day 5- Thursday 24th August 2006 (Rain in morning, only morning I did not get a sunrise photo! :( Stupid dark clouds!)
Left camp 5.30am
Arrived at our new home in Perth at 9.30pm
1,057kms for day! !!!!!!!!!!!!
A lot, I know but we figured we were so close that it was pointless camping! We just took our time!
Never been so emotionally and phyiscally exhausted in all my life! My car deserved a good rest and got it!

I did not get as many photos as I would of liked as I was driving too, I did try to take some while driving (I know, I shouldn't but I was only going through Bendigo once!), but I am happy with what I did get! I also did get plenty of souvenirs and postcards for photos I could not get because of the rain or just inconvience to park or stop!

The dogs absolutely loved the trip and Casey (little black lab) loved it in the back of my car.

I slept so well each night as I was exhausted and now just have to adjust my stomach clock to Perth time and quit eating lunch at 10am! LOL!

So good to be back and I have missed you all so much! Thanks for all your kind comments, prayers (I was praying my car would make it!) and well wishes. Both DH and I truly appreciate it.

Here are just a few layouts I did a while ago which I submitted as part of my application for a design team. I did not get in, but that is okay as I now have a really lovely addition to my wedding album, as the poem on it was the same one read at our ceremony (just got to buy an album to put it in!)

Finally got the net on!

After a few dramas and being put on hold I finally decided to sign up with dodo! Should of done that first! Anyways got the net on now. LOL!

Still unpacking boxes and probally will be for a while! DH is back at work and I did my induction yesterday and start Friday! I get weekends off! Too cool!!!


Will post up photos and details of our trip tomorrow, (honest, got the net on now!)

We have arrived!!!

Just a very quick post (not my computer) to let you all know that we have arrived safely and our stuff has arrived this morning. Just got to unpack it all now!
I have already visited Scrapbooks from the heart and bought some scrapping supplies and have already started a small altered canvas!
Will get internet and phone connected Monday hopefully and will upload some pics and details of our trip.

Going home

Well we are finally heading off!
I kind of feel like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. I have been on this awesome adventure and made a whole heap of great friends, but despite how much it hurts to leave, it is time to go home!

Sad Goodbye

Finally got the house packed up and cleaned. Furniture got removed this morning, keys handed back and house and yard tidied. It was so strange watching all our stuff being loaded on the back of the truck. Almost surreal!
Past couple of days have been very long and stressful! Good thing the scales are packed! LOL!
DH got his car serviced today and we are ready to pack up the cars and leave Sunday as planned! (Hopefully nothing else will go wrong, knock on wood!)

Well tomorrow I am going to my LSS for the last time! All the girls I have gotten to know well will be there and it is going to be very hard to say goodbye! I will not list any names as I do not want to forget to mention anyone, but you know who you all are! (I am tearing up typing this, hate to think what I will be like actually there tomorrow!)
This is where I learned to scrapbook, where I spend my Saturday nights! Where I have been inspired and have inspired while eating lots of pizza and drinking large amounts of coffee and wine! LOL!
Seriously going to miss them all and no words will ever do justice to explain how much these girls mean to me and how grateful I am that they (god, more tears!) came into my life.
Ok going now, this baby needs a tissue!

Quick Update

Everything is being disconnected so I am using the internet at the library (in-laws connection toooooo slow!!)
DH has bought another car! That means mine will make it now as we will not have all that excess weight! He got a Toyota 4 runner. Good condition at a bargain price.
Finished work last night. Yah!
Just finishing the packing and cleaning house and yard before we hand house keys back on Friday.

Happy Birthday Scott!


Happy Birthday to my Darling Husband!
Although he has been majorly stressed out lately (with his car dying and the move and all) I will try to make his day a stress free one. Even if it is just for one day!

Has anyone else noticed how early Spring is this year? Everything is flowering and the birds are already building their nests. This first photo is of a nest in my camelia tree in our front yard. A freshly made birds nest! Too cute! Shame I will not be here to see the little birds lay their eggs.
The second photo is of two ducks way up high in the tree across the road. First time I have ever seen ducks up in a tree that tall!

Well I have two more nights of work and then I am done! Whooo Hoooo!!!!

Our internet is being disconnected tommorrow so I will have to blog from my in-laws computer until we leave.

This is my journal ready to go for the trip. Quickly altered it last night! You can just see the metal photo corners and the cracked sepia dimensional magic (aged effect!LOL) I figure it is the perfect heritage colours and if I get a bit of dirt on it, it will just look like distressing! (that is what I am telling myself anyway!)

The journal I got from the girls at Arty Pants will be perfect for my scrap ideas as the one I am using only has THREE paged left to write on! Will have to altered it beautifully once I get to Perth.

Posting off my For Keeps entries today, that way they are done and out of the way! One less thing to worry about! LOL!

One more week!

Exactly one week to go before we drive over to Perth!
Put our tent up this morning for a test run to see how long it will take us each day to assemble it! It is one massive tent!!! All our packed boxes are slowly making their way to the front rooms of the house! Almost done packing, just got the computer and kitchen stuff we have been using to pack.

Went to Arty Pants this afternoon and got to catch up with Jodie and Judee again. Also got to meet some of the other design team ladies, Steph, Ruey, Connie and Carrie. Very nice meeting you all in person and thank you so much for my gorgeous card and gift. :)

Scrap me Happy!




Scrapping is such a great way to de-stress!
Yes, I know I should be packing up my supplies and I am, honest! It does not mean I can not do some scrapping while I sort and pack? LOL!
I seem to be using white for a base a lot lately and giving my gel pens a real workout! Must be my latest phase! Also still on the Pink!
The first layout is a scrap lift off Karen's Blog. I have seen a few others work who have taken the class and I really liked the style so I thought I would try it myself.
I guess I am really scrapping outside the square lately, but I am having fun and really loving the finished result!

Plans for the Weekend!


Don't you hate it when you are trying to get a good self portrait and your hair is flat? Just having one of those really BAD hair days, were it is just refusing to co-operate. So I thought I would try a different angle! LOL! UPSIDE DOWN! It's different! Btw I am wearing my new sunnies that I bought the other day. So into Pink at the moment!


Plans for the weekend:

- Packing "sobs" of ALL my scrapping supplies!!!! "more sobbing".
- Hunting for a birthday pressie for DH for his birthday on Monday (shhhhhh!)
- Pack the rest of our stuff up and move into in-laws house (they arrive back from QLD on Tuesday!)
- Start cleaning house ready for furniture removalist so when they pick up our stuff we just have the front room to clean.
- Going to Arty Pants on Sunday and getting to meet the other Melbournian girls that are on the Design Team. So cool, can not wait!

Plan B!

Bloodly Blogger must hate me today as this is the second time I have had to type this!

Okay, we have come up with another plan! We are going to salvage and sell what we can off DH's car. He has ready sent his plates in for a refund on his rego.
My car has had the back seat pulled out so that the two dogs will be comfortable and we have the trailer still and just have to get a tow bar for my car. The black Labrador, Casey will go in the trailer.
The money that DH would of spent on fuel to get to Perth we are going to put towards buying him a car at the auctions in Perth, once we get there. Since my car is dual fuel, it will be cheaper and he will go halves with me, so that will also help me out financially.
We have a tent and everything we need to take with us! Just got to pray that mine makes it over without a hitch now!

I had FIVE cups of coffee yesterday but slept like a baby as soon as my head hit the pillow! Might start drinking more! LOL


On a scrapping note my guest DT stuff is up on Scrap Apple .
Bought myself a pair of new sunnies (retail therapy) and some scrapping embellishments! Yah!
Going to alter a journal for our trip so I can record every little detail!

Bloodly Jinxed!

DH is constantly telling me how he is jinxed and I never believed anyone could be jinxed that bad, that it has to be just a series of bad luck! F^%*ing hell! His car is dead!!!! Even if we replaced the motor it would not make it to Frankston let alone Perth!
I am on the verge of tears! We can not all fit into my car, not with the dogs and we can't really afford to get another one now, as our finances are stretched to the limit as it is! Also what happens if we do by chance all go in my car and we breakdown half way?
With less than two weeks until we go, we are stuffed! I have officially hit that LARGE PANIC BUTTON! We can not stay as we have no jobs or house to live in now and our removal has been paid for and we have a house and jobs waiting for us in Perth!
At this point in time I just want to scream!
Do not know what we are going to do at this time, just know that we have to go!

Sorry, to just blurt this out, but I had to get it out of my system.

I am off to have another coffee! I know I will be having a few extra coffees today!

Moving Update

We took all our excess furniture to Outlook today. Hopefully it will all go to needy homes. DH nearly broke is finger while loading the furniture. I have never heard him swear so loud! He was holding his hand and was looking on the ground thinking he had chopped off his fingers! Luckily that was not the case (thank God!) although he will have one very sore and bruised finger tomorrow! (Had to be the most used finger when driving too! LOL)

I have just over one week left of work and can not wait! I am still doing my job, but my mind is elsewhere! Like in Perth! I am so looking forward to seeing my family and friends again and making some new friends through the scrapping network!

Cyber Crop Creativity!





Got some gorgeous layouts done at LC's Cyber Crop! Thanks to the lovely Mistra for the challenges! Very inspiring! Just what I needed!


First challenge was a step by step challenge. Luckily we were told in advance what we needed (that helped!) Very happy with the result. It is the first layout I have done in ages that has more than one photo on it! Sorry do not know why blogger has uploaded it on its side and I do not know how to correct it, so you will just have to tilt your heads! LOL!!!


Second challenge we had to select three colours from the following:
Red, Orange, Purple, Hot Pink, Cyan

We were also allowed to add either black and/or white because "technically they are not colours". Had fun with my retro flower fabric and some Jac Paper!

Third challenge was to create a layout that did not cost more than $6.00!!! OMG!!! Tough one, just made it!

White paper = .50 cents

Sequins = $2.00

Patterned papers = $ 2.80

Grand total of $5.30 (So Proud!)

Friday once more

Friday has arrived once again!

Got my hair cut yesterday. I know I was trying to grow it but it was just getting to be a hassle and taking too long to straighten. I got a whole inch cut off the end and off all the layers so it looks shorter from the front but still has some length in the back. Really liking the layered look at the moment and can see myself keeping it for a while!

I will be participating in a cyber crop this weekend at LC's .
Whether I get anything done is another story but I am sure Mistra has some wonderful challenges ready to hand out to us needing an inspirational shove! LOL! Got to get some more creative juices flowing now that I have finished my entries for For Keeps!

Got a few more tip runs to do this weekend and have to start tiding up the yard (it is going to be sunny all weekend, that is the forecast anyway!) Our couch is getting picked up by some friends and the rest of the furniture we are not keeping we are giving away or getting rid of this weekend!

I guess I am still in denial but I got a call Friday from Clair at Scrapbooking Memories to congratulate me on making the shortlist!

There I have told someone other than my husband!

Still in shock. First time entering and never really thought I had a chance as I felt I rushed my application. Posted everything on Monday as it has to be there by Friday.
Wish me luck! Me and 99 other shortlist members!



On a more certain note:

I have a job waiting for me when I get to Perth. Starts in September. I have to do a four hour induction before hand as it has been more than 3 months since I last worked for them. (worked with them when we last lived there), then 4 weeks training with the girl who is leaving (other words I just go with her and get paid for it!)

Ok off to finish my FK entries. :)

Delightful


Finally getting some decent rain and everything is starting to bloom beautifully overnight! It's just magical!


Also been getting some layouts done. Here is one I can share:



I thought I would try something different. I really wanted the butterfly to stand out and not have the colours on the layout overwhelm the photo.

Not long now before we drive over to Perth and the excitement is just building! DH is worried that we will not get everything done in time, but I know we will! He does all the worrying for the both of us. Sometimes I think I may be just a little too layed back! LOL
