Its Official!!!!

Just thought I should announce it officially!
Scott and I are moving back to Perth!
He has been offered his previous job, but in a management position, plus there is more work for Security Dog Handlers and Trainers in WA (he trains police and narcotics dogs)
At the moment we are working on leaving Tuesday22nd August and just taking our time driving over there. Hopefully the WA wildflowers will be out in bloom by the time we drive through! Just imagine all the gorgeous photos I will capture!

We already have a house to rent organised through his new employer and he will have work straight away. I will have to search for work as soon as we get there other wise scrapping funds will be very tight! LOL! Can't have that now, can I?
I am very excited as I do have family and friends over there, but at the same time I am a bit emotional leaving here as I have made so many good scrapping friends, who I cherish dearly!

Well I have heaps to organise and pack. I will still be online and my scrapbooking stuff is getting packed last! Priorities!!!! LOL!!! But I will keep you all informed and try to say my goodbyes to you all through the my blog as it would take forever individually!

Have a great weekend!

Hallelujah!!!!!!!

WHoooo hoooo.
Thanks to the lovely
Val (for sending my some extra thread!) I have finally finished all the stitching on my Pacing Tiger layout!!!!!!!
Such a great feeling of accomplishment! Will not tackle a project with this much stitching for a while! But well and truly worth it.
Thanks again Val, I would not of been able to finish it without your generosity! 0X

Also picked up the latest FK today!!!! Totally amazed at how good my little money purse looks and how big it is! It is really half the size irl! LOL!

The photographer did an amazing job! Also heaps of familiar names in the issue, will have to make a cuppa and have a good look.

Card Published

I have this card that was published in May's Making Cards but can not find the magazine anywhere. Apparently I am in the readers gallery. That still counts as being published right? LOL. Sorry photo is not the greatest!

Somewhere over the rainbow....

Not sure how that song goes now. You know the one, off the Wizard of Oz.
I do remember singing it in grade 3 in the school production of the Wizard of Oz.
Every class in the school played a part, we were the rainbow!

I love rainbows. We have not had much rain here in Melbourne down my way lately and today we have been having a few sun showers here and there. Just noticed this huge, beautiful rainbow in the backyard and had to take a few photos! Best one I have seen in ages! The photo does not even do it justice as it is twice as big as what I was able to capture!
The dogs got all excited when I went outside, thinking I was going to take more photos of them! LOL! Jake would not leave me alone and kept nudging me! That dog is a camera tart!!!!

Sending rainbows your way. :)

Somewhere over the rainbow

Way up high

There's a land that I heard of

Once in a lullaby...

Good mail!

Yesterday all we got was bills in the mail.
Today I got some of my layouts back which had been posted for publication and with one of my layouts, the magazine it was published in; Up2Scrap (NZ Mag) I am on page 77! Yah!
July is going to be a great month! Got two more layouts (ok, one double layout and an otp project) in next months For Keeps and Creative Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazines.
Just to think, all I wanted this year was to get at least one thing published! More than happy with my progress so far this year.

Not doing much this weekend. Besides scrapping of course!
Posted off my SM Masters entries and have a few small competitions that I am thinking of entering.
Have a good weekend :)

It's all fun and games until somebody pops the ball!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Jake loves to play with his basketball! He amuses himself and us for hours chasing it around the yard and playing chasy with it by himself. He will pick it up and throw it up into the air and chase it, regardless of where it goes! Even if it rebounds off Kiras head!!!!
He has always wanted to play with my yoga ball!

His whole face lights up everytime he sees it!
It is his dream ball! The bigger the better!
Today we decided it would be funny to watch him play with it.
Hell, if he pops it he pops it, it's not like I ever use it!

2 minutes later, several photos and one popped ball. LOL
Jake has it on his head and has the biggest smirk on his face!
This is one very happy dog.
Meanwhile Kira is barking for someone to pay attention to her and Casey is nowhere to be seen as she is doing laps of her yard.

Too funny! :)

Ask and you shall receive

I am constantly amazed by scrapbookers generousity! Being part of an online community/forum is great. Even though I will probaly never meet half of these women I feel like I know them better than some of my childhood friends.
They are always there to hear your troubles and to give you some words of wisdom. To compliment you on your layouts or just to help you find a certain product that you need.

I recently started a layout which requires a lot of stitching and just before I could finish the layout, (yep you guessed it!) I ran out of that thread! Not just any thread, but a Warehouse brand thread, so the DMC brand did not have a colour that even came close to the one I was using. So, I decided to put it out there on one of the regular forums I visit S.A.M and Val came to the rescue. Thank you sooooo much Val. You have truly made my day! I am finally able to get my tiger layout finished!

Flower Power

Terry from http://www.croptillyadrop.com.au gave us all a large chipboard flower on Saturday night to alter as we wish as long as we put a photo on it. She is going to display them around her shop. That way all the regulars (we scrappers addicted beyond help) will be remembered.

Just putting the finishing touches on my SM entry! Really got to get it finished and posted this week before I get sick of it! Do not think my layouts are anything flash but hoping to get a shoe in with the the otp stuff! Fingers crossed!

DH has the flu now! I recover, he gets sick, it is a vicious cycle! Poor thing! I hear him coughing and sneezing and think, "God! Did I sound that pathetic and sick last week?"

Keep warm :)

Challenge 3 done

Well that is all 3 done! I have to say that this one is my least favourite!
The third challenge was a 12 step by step challenge, so it gets done one step at a time. Pretty cool. Definetly different!
Mistra has done such a great job with the challenges and I like to see how everyone interprets what is asked of them. Some very inspiring layouts have been created this weekend!

Well I got my monogram for part 4 of the SM Masters entry which I will work on later this afternoon. That is all I have left to complete, so hopefully I will get it done and post photos along with my entry sometime this week!

Hope everyone has had a great weekend!

Challenge 2

Glad I printed this photo of my friend Carina while she was over on holidays earlier this year with her new digital camera. (Same as mine, but in black.) It was made for this challenge!
At this rate I will have the album I am making for her, of her trip here done in no time!

Still cyber cropping and surfing the net, while printing more photos to take with me to Terry's tonight. I have not been for a few weeks and am seriously craving some Grumpy's pizza! YUMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!

No cardstock!

Just uploaded to http://www.lcscreative.com.au my first challenge. Hard one as you were not allowed to use any cardstock what so ever and had to have at least 3 patterned papers. Nothing plain. You were not even allowed to matt your photo using cardstock!
Considering I generally use cardstock as my main canvas to work on I think I did pretty well. Really enjoyed the challenge and can not wait for number 2 to be posted.

Kmart have 15% off store wide at the moment so I am heading there this morning along with a visit to the Warehouse to see if I can find that one particular brand of brown thread that I have ran out of on my tiger layout which I started a month ago! So over hand stitching but just want to get it finished!

Cyber Cropping Tonight

I am so into cyber crops at the moment! Love them! The trivia, the chatting and don't forget the challenges! Great way to inspire some creativity and to push me to think outside that square!
If you feel like cyber cropping join us at http://lcscreative.com.au Lynn and the Design Team Angels are very friendly and helpful. It will be my first cyber crop with them and I can not wait!!

I have got dinner on the stove and in the microwave. (Rissotto tastes yummier and is just faster and easier to cook in the mic) Having yummy Thai marinated chicken with stir fry vegies and rissotto!! Yummo!!!!!!

Got to finish my SM Masters entries this weekend and luckily I am well enough to go to my regular crop night Saturday at http://croptillyadrop.com.au and even Luckier that Terry has 20% off starting Saturday for one whole week! Love them scrapping sales!!!!
So needless to say I will be able to purchase what I need to finish these entries!!!
So no more excuses!!!

Just got a private message notifying me that one of the cards I made for the cyber crop at http://www.littlescrapbookshop.com.au/ last weekend is on their home page! Yippee!
Now if only I could delete that 'H' in my name! :)

Happy 40th Birthday Jenny!

A big birthday wish for Jenny! Big 40!
Hope you have a fantastic day Jenny!
Met Jenny through S.A.M. www.scrapbooksandmore.com.au and all the girls there are so lovely and friendly. Great site! I practically live there! LOL!!!
A group of us from S.A.M completed a page each for Jenny of her life until now for her 40th Birthday Album.
My contribution to her album is above. It was hard scrapping a layout for someone who I have never met in person and the fact that I did not know what style she likes was a bit intimidating, so I decided to keep it simple and elegant.
I am feeling better today. Bought some of those nice smelling Eucalyptus Tissues. Total Bliss on my poor nose. Also more soothers! Been practically living off them the past week!
Take care and rug up people!

Arty Pants

Just got an email from Jodie of Arty Pants welcoming me aboard their design team.
Yah!!!!!!! So excited!!!! Can not wait for their store to open but if you want a peek at the yummy supplies they have on hand check out www.artypants.com.au, their online shop.

Speaking of Design Teams. I have finished my layouts for the July Guest Spot I had given to me with the 3bugs in a rug groovy range (totally yummy range btw!) I was so inspired by the range that instead of just the two layouts required of me, I have done 3 plus a small otp project.
Just got to decide what to submit now! Might just submit them all and let Lynn decide.
Hope the sun is out tomorrow so I can get good photos of my work. Will upload them in July when they are on the sites gallery.

Still have the flu! Nose is running and the eyes are watering and stinging but as long as the inspiration keeps coming, I will keep scrapping!

Bummed!!!

I recently entered my photo "Beach Bums" (the one on the header of this blog) in a Pets Photo Comp. After being voted on by other forum members and recieving lovely comments, I have made it to Number 1 on the top 5 highly rated list on that site. Despite this I did not even make it to become a finalist as the photographer who usually does the judging passed the buck onto someone else who decided to pick what she thought was cute!
I am dissappointed!!!
Apparently he will now pick someone else to pick a winner out of the finalists! I honestly thought the competiton would be judged by the professional photographer, not by a beginner!
Looking at the forum, I am not the only one who feels cheated and thinks that the comp should of been judged how it has always been judged in the past!

Anyway, life goes on. I know it is a great photo and I know that if the forum users did not like it, it would not have made the top 5 highly rated list (for the whole site, not just that competition!)

I am still sick with the flu but have to go to work tonight! Good thing the healthcare center has central heating!
Almost finished my SM entries, got to make a start on mumber 4 and finish some journalling on my layouts. Also working on a couple of layouts for a guest design team spot for July.

Stay warm and healthy :) I am trying!

Still sick...

I hate being sick! I have been couped up indoors for three days (other than going to buy soothers and cold and flu tablets on Saturday!)
I am starting to go a little stir crazy!!!! Going for a drive later into town. Just a car trip for me, even then I HAVE to rug up otherwise I am not going anywhere!

Managed to finish my four cyber crop challenges for http://littlescrapbookshop.com.au. Do not think I put in 100% but had to do something to get my mind off feeling sick! I hate just laying around! Cleaned bathroom and then lost motivation to do the rest of the house and the washing is still there!!!

Other than that not much is happening here.
I bet I will fully recover tomorrrow from this flu! Tomorrow I go back to work!

Hope everyone is having a productive weekend.

What time is it?

Time for me to get better!!! Feeling well enough today to scrap. Thank goodness!!!! LOL
Still blowing my nose and trying to cough up that lung but until that happens the heater is staying on full blast! DH believes that to get rid of a flu you have to "sweat it out!"

I finally got the opportunity to alter this clock I have been getting around to doing for ages as part of the cyber crop challenge I started on Friday. Love it! Photo not too crash hot as I had to angle it to avoid reflection. (If I was smart, I would of taken a photo of it before I put the cover back on!!!)

Other than the clock, not much scrapping has been happening! Been watching foxtel. Just saw The 40 year old virgin on box office. My side hurts! Talk about funny! Last night I watched Madagascar (I know kids movie, I don't care!!!) funny too!
Glad I have tommorrow off also. Hopefully I will be well enough to clean the house and do that mountain of washing that just seems to keep growing!

Restless Leg Syndrome!

Talk about pain! After having a great evening online with the http://littlescrapbookshop.com.au and participating in their online cyber crop! Loads of fun!
My legs started to ache! It was only the other day I remember thinking to myself how my legs have not ached for ages and wondering if the diet was helping! Well I take all those thoughts back!!!!!
I had a hot shower just before going to bed which at the time did ease the pains in my left leg and went to bed hoping the right would eventually go away! Excuriciating!!!! 1.30am in the morning. I had to get up. Usually pacing helps, not this morning! I could not even stand on it and the pain was searing right up my whole right leg. I was fighting back tears.
Worst episode of RLS ever. I managed to get the heater on and sit right in front of it and just rub my leg for half an hour. The heat felt wonderful and did the world of good, even if it did take half and hour for the pain to subdue into tolerable so that I could go to bed and get some sleep. (I was pretty tired by 2am!)
I have had this as long as I can remember. I honestly know that last night was the worst and really hope it is not going to be that painful again! At least I know know the heater and some leg rubbing does help! Unlike all those stupid Crampeze tablets and gel!!!!

Anyway a long whinge for a long weekend!
To top it off I woke up this morning and my nose is running and throat dry and scratchy!
Does not look like I will be going to Terry's cropping tonight! (Damn!!!) Will have to pop into the shop and get some cold and flu tablets, soothers and comfort food!
My poor heater will be working over time this long weekend!!!

New Scrapping Desks

Scott got me these two massive graphic designer desks yesterday. (Talk about huge!!!) Anyways my stuff has gone from one litte corner in the living room to one massive corner in the dining/kitchen room!!!
Total Caos! I did not realise how much scrapping supplies I have! I have been sorting it all out most of today and finding things I did not even know I had! LOL!
Will post up a photo when it is all sorted and neat.

Dementia

Spent up big this weekend! Fountain Gate was a blast. Mother-in-law came along and she has this habit of buying socks for Scott every where we go. So has you can imagine he has plenty!!!
Anyways, we get to the food court and she has bought a couple more for him! He refuses to take them and she says that he has no choice as the reciept says NO REFUNDS!
So he marched into the shop and told them that his mother suffers from Dementia and that he had turned his back for 5 minutes and she had bought pairs of socks at five different shops! LOL! Needless to say, he got her her money back!
Well I bought some more scrapping supplies and ribbons. I also found some chipboard alphabets at the Warehouse for $5 each. I grabbed two packs!!!
I did manage to get some scrapping done over the weekend, but I do think that I actually spent more time shopping than scrapping. Will have to make up for it during the week!

Layout found!

Do you ever start a layout which you don't finish and put aside? I do! Constantly! LOL! I found this one last night which I started roughly this time, last year under all my patterned paper. Since I just got some new fancy pants flowers I finally decided just to finish it! Not too happy with the finished result, but I am happy that it has been completed.

Still hand stitching my tiger layout which I started last week. I am about 3/4 done and it is looking pretty good. I might even enter it in the FK excellence awards. Got to be in it, to win it!

This morning I went to my local scrapbook shop, Crop-Till-Ya-Drop for their stocktake sale. 30% off! Got some patterned paper to finish my layout for the Masters and some Fancy Pants flowers! In total I have 5 jars now! Hopefully they will last awhile!!!!

Anyways, I plan to finish all four of the requirements for the Masters hopefully this weekend so I can get started on the FK awards, plus I have gotten a few guest designing spots and have a few layouts to do. Always a guest designer, never just a designer. Got rejected again! So out of the six applications this year I have managed to score 2 guest designer spots and a couple of others have put me down on their list for a later date if needed.

I have come to the conclusion that if I want to get noticed not only do I have to get more of my work published, but I would have to at least be a finalist in a major competition. TALK ABOUT TOUGH! There are just too many scrapbookers who are more accomplished than me, so if any apply for a design team that I apply for too, I do not have a chance!!!

Oh well, I won't let it get me down. Instead I will finish my entries for the Masters and FK and just send them. Hopefully someone will notice!

Tomorrow I am going to Fountain Gate shopping centre for some retail therapy and the Warehouse (they have a huge one close by with a HUGE craft area!)

Have a great weekend!
