Life Preservers Club Guest DT work:



Had so much fun creating these for Life Preservers Club! The first one is a frame and I have a leg on the back and everything so it stands up on it's own. Made it from scratch. The photo just slides through a slit down the side via the back.

Had so much fun creating this for Sheree's Chipboard Challenge on STS. What a great way to use up your letters. Never thought I would be any good at mixing colours and fonts. I like it.
It is a layout of my little four year old godson Kyle, Deep In Thought!

Busy!!

Last night I went cropping at "scrapbooks from the heart", so sorry to Michelle who I only knew was there as I was leaving! I had never been there before for a crop and they have new owners too. I arrived and was not even told what happens and one lady Meridith told me to find my name and that is where I was sitting.
Anyway, could not find it anywhere, I found Christine though and assumed that it had to be me.
When I booked and paid weeks ago I asked to be seated next to Michelle.

I could not find her name (there where four large desk areas) and assumed she had not turned up! Sorry Mish!!!!

Some of us girls got together later on in the night and ordered a pizza for dinner as they do not supply dinner (thanks Terry for spoiling me, my expectations for crops are SUPER high now!) only cake! So if you know me, you will know I get cranky when I do not eat! So I was a bit disappointed especially since it was $14 for the night. Just realized also, that I left my cutting mat there too!!!! Will have to go in tomorrow! Hope it is still there and that they know I left it behind (they have my details, they could of rung to tell me so) I do not think I will go back and crop there.

At least I won the prize pack! Not a complete waste! I did get some layouts done too, but can not upload here just yet as they are for a guest DT spot on an American site.

Anyway, have not had a chance to start on any of the challenges for the CC at SYS as I went with DH this morning to meet a lady who trains detection dingoes to sniff out cane toads! If you live in Perth you would of seen on the news that they are heading to WA through the NT so it is really only a matter of time before they head down south!

I got a few photos and got to play with some puppies! Too cute!!!



Tonight got dinner plans with DH and his boss and family (business dinner) and hope to get some scrapping done tomorrow!

Olivia Valma Earle


Got some gorgeous photos of this little doll this morning. Love the first photo of my cousin kissing her forehead. We were just talking and I had the camera in my hand and asked her to do it again as it just seemed like one of those precious moments that had to be captured on camera.

One Loose Wire!

Funny how one little wire to one little relay box in your car can upset the whole thing!?
Even funnier (ok, maybe not so funny) how two RAC guys can assess the same car and the first not know what that *ticking* noise is, even after being told that it is not a normal regular sound for my car to be making and the second RAC guy knew straight away and fixed it right there on the spot and saved me hundreds if I had decided to take it into the auto electrician!

Anyway on a really happier note Scrap YourSelf Silly are having their Very First Cyber Crop!!!!!
I will be popping in tonight as I have a crop to go to, but can not wait to join in the fun of the challenges and games being set up over the weekend.

Four Day Weekend!

My car has decided I need a Four Day Weekend!
Good thing Thursday and Fridays are just office work for me and is optional!
I was on my way in this morning when my car stalled three times within the space of the traffic lights! Just managed to pull it off the road and call the RACV which transfered me to the WA RAC. Anyway they could not find out why it did it and just suggested that I replace certain hoses and get the gas mixture content checked as some of the petrol stations here have had their gas supplies mixed with petrol!!!
Just GREEEEAAAT!!!!
Have someone looking at it today and hope to get it sorted before tomorrow night, other wise I might have to cancel my crop night *sob* and my weekend plans.

Off to have a cuppa and ring in to work to tell them what is happening. Hopefully it will be sorted and fixed by Monday as I start at 4am on Mondays!

My Dream Garden


Just a layout I have done this week for the EDM comp. (photo not to hot, not enough light in craft room after lunch!) Have not used the Michael Miller fabric yet. It did not seem to match this layout! I have ordered some brighter fabric to use on another layout for this months theme.
Still have not caught up with some of the previous months themes yet and hope to get them done on Friday night at the crop night I am going to or over the weekend hopefully!

Two more days!


Ok girls, you have two more days to get your Bling challenges in at SYS Details Here!
I have made a canvas as my original 12x12 layout was not big enough for the flowers! LOL! Ok, the flowers where too big! Anyway.... I do not know how well you can see the HS mask in the background. But I have coloured it in with shimmer chalks and then filled it in with Dimensional Magic and pink micro beads! Messy but so much FUN!

SYS are also having their very first Cyber Crop this weekend. Starting Friday 7.30pmEST!

Cooling down



Today is heaps cooler than yesterday and Friday! It looks like it might even rain later!

Went to the Canningvale Markets this morning and got to meet Maria from SYS forum in her little stall. Very busy and selling lots of stamps.

Also got my very first paid photography assignment today in which I had to take photos of a garden and their house. I have uploaded my favourites. (Blogger still not letting me load the photos up the right way for some reason! Sorry you will have to tilt your head until I figure out why, as it never used to do this!) Not too sure what to charge yet! Ended up with heaps of photos and I really hope it is what they were after.
I will let you know how I go.

Busy week this week, scrapping wise. Got a few DT projects I am working on and a guest spot for an american kit club. Will post up my work as soon as I am allowed to!
Also really working on getting more visitors at my other blog S.T.S
If you have heaps of scraps and can not bear to throw them out, DON'T! They can be saved!

Check out my....


gorgeous little purse I just bought for $5.00. Talk about cute and adorable. Plus it will fit into my smaller handbags unlike my big brown old fuddy duddy purse. Sure it is practical, but this one is just so adorable I had to have it!!! It just screamed if you are a true scrapbooker, you would have a purse like me! LOL! Now to fit all my stuff from the old purse into this little one!

I have had a great day. Decided to have the day off work and meet up with Julie and her daughter Asher for lunch at Carousel and now I am just finalizing a canvas I am doing (started as a 12x12 layout but could not fit everything in, so I decided to go BIGGER!) for a Bling Challenge at SYS. So if you love to scrap with Bling I recommend you get your challenge in by Wednesday 25th October 2006.

Good day turned not so good!

I was having a good, no great day until I got pulled over (on my way home from work) and fined for speeding today (my fault, I was tad over), but I did not have my drivers licence on me so I will also get fined for that!
Weird part was the policeman running into the middle of the road and waving me off. I thought there had been a serious accident up ahead and everyone was being de-toured or something, god my heart was pounding so loudly until I realized, no I am being done for speeding!
Oh well, live and learn. Will have to ease my foot off the pedal a bit. Funny though how well behaved and polite I am driving the work van, but in my old bomb I do not care and am impatient!

Also got scrappers block today!
Just finished a Dog layout for the SC Cover Competition (Don't believe I have ever seen an animal on the cover of a scrapping mag) and posted it off and it seems I used up my mojo on that! LOL!
You know the feeling, you really want to scrap, but nothing looks right!
Best just to walk away and come back tommorrow I think!

(Hope to have it back by Friday as I am going to a crop night and SYS are having their very FIRST Cyber Crop weekend. Starts Friday, can not wait!) Sorry next weekend! LOL! I am a whole week ahead of myself!


I think I may just take Friday off and give myself a three day weekend.

Sunday Luncheon






Went to my cousins 21st lunch date today. Needless to say we did not see much of her as she was still recovering from partying with her friends the night before, but I did manage to get a few photos of her and her sister and DH got one of me in with my cousins also. (I could not stop squinting so I just ended up putting my sunnies on, still look like a wog next to them though! LOL) Happy to finally have some recent photos of them!

Gorgeous warm sunny afternoon and the lunch was so yummy and do not even get me started on the desserts! Will not need dinner tonight! So full!!! Also do not need to cook tomorrow night. Bonus!

If anyone could help me with advice on how to rotate these photos I would appreciate it. They are saved the right way around when I upload?

Just got an email from Sarah saying how much she loves my layout in the latest SM?
Did not even know it had been published as it got accepted for "consideration" months and months ago!
Will have to buy a copy tomorrow!

Apparently it is on page 133 if you want to take a better look.

Friday the 13th

I always have luck on this day! Always have and after yesterday I know today will be better!
I will not go into long and boring details, but yesterday I was a bit regretful of having moved back to Perth, well more like regretful of some of my so-called friends (long story).

Anyway, it is friday and I only have to go into work for a few hours (flexable working hours and days are working out great!) and then I have the whole weekend to scrap away until my hearts content!

Have a lucky friday the 13th girls and a great weekend!

News

Just a quick update:

# Just got a message from my cousin AnaRita, she had her baby girl on Sunday 11.09am.
Weight 7 pounds 7. Olivia Valma Earle.
I will post up a photo of the little princess when she emails me one, or when I get up there to see the little darling!

# I have also been chosen as a DT member on Scrap Yourself Silly. Feel free to check out the forum and gallery, it would be great to see some familiar faces there.

# Scrapping the Scraps (my other blog) is recruiting contributors. If you are handy at using up your scraps and would love to share your ideas we would love for you to apply. Check out the blog or email me for more details.

# Got a 21st luncheon on Sunday, should be interesting, never been to a 21st luncheon before!

Perth Royal Show


DH took me to the show today and bought (not won) this huge Rotti in a camo jacket! (He has taken the photo) Too cute!
I will have to admit not having kids, (even though I am a big kid at heart) previous shows have been disappointing, but this one was anything but! All the pavillions with arts & crafts, photography, free samples and animals was wonderful!!! DH and I were both surprised how long we were there for! A lot longer than any other show we have been to in the past.
Looking forward to next years!

So Pissed Off!

OMG I just want to tear my hair out!!!! Optus are absolute ASSHOLES!!!
Excuse the language but that is as mildly as I can put it! I have had enough!

Okay some advice would be greatly appreciated as I am sick of ringing them and getting nowhere. DH has recommended that I take the complaint to the Communications Obudsman as I am getting nowhere with Optus and getting charged for a service (broadband) which I do not have!!!!! Plus the expense of ringing them up all the time and being told that it is cancelled and that I should have me refund by now!!!


I need a coffee... thanks for letting me blow off some steam......
this is just getting me madder and madder and getting me nowhere!!!

So annoyed!!!

Will go now... need that coffee BAD!!!

Waiting

My cousin Ana Rita is still waiting to have her little girl!

Foxtel IQ guy did not come around yesterday. Claims because it was raining he would be unable to install it! What rain???? I am sure it had nothing to do with the Footy being on in a couple of hours! Of course not!!!!!! Got to wait over a month now!!!!! Not happy!

Arty Pants Design Team Challenge



Our first challenge was Poppets! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought making these were possible, but I had so much fun and really love the end result. Very Teesha Moore.
The blended journalling in the middle reads as follows:

Second challenge was to do a sugar cube. I have made mine into a Birthday gift box (it has a photo of my mum) which will allow my mum to add recent photos around the outside if she wishes. As it opens she will find a flower telling her to make a wish.
